Meet Bob Freedman

Bob Freedman - Senior Consultant

Bob Freedman retired in 2014 after serving 28 years as C.E.O. of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg. Prior to that he was the Executive Director of Legal Aid Manitoba for 7 years. During that time, he was on the board of the Winnipeg Jewish Community Council and served as allocations chair and senior vice president. He served on a task force that created the Board of Jewish Education and served as its first board chair. Freedman was also the chair of the Central Canadian Council of B’Nai Brith. He was the recipient of the Harry Silverberg Young Leadership award.

Freedman played a key role in the conceptualization and planning of the Asper Jewish Community Campus. He served as project coordinator and was heavily involved in the fundraising/financing of the project ( 28 million 1993-1997 dollars )

Outside of the Jewish community, Freedman served as board chair of Main Street Project, board member of the Manitoba Immigration Council, St. Boniface General Hospital and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
